A sprawling five-bedroom Mount Vernon home on a hectare block sold prior to weekend auction for $2,750,000.
The home was sold prior to auction through private treaty to one of the 30 people who viewed the home as part of the open inspection over the last four weeks.
United Agents Property Group agent Joe Mazzaferro said the weekend auction ban led him and the vendors to create bidding competition prior to what would have been the auction on Saturday.
“We had potential buyers available and we were able to sell the home front he names gathered through the open home inspections,” he said.
“A lot of those keen on the property were not too familiar with digital auctions so we sold it prior to what would have been the auction.
“We had about 30 people through the property as part of a four-week campaign and towards the end numbers were way down – previously we were seeing over 100 people at some inspections.”
The five-bedroom family home shares the huge block with a one-bedroom freestanding granny flat.
The family home has a sunken formal lounge, formal dining room, large rumpus room and family room complete with bar and combustion wood fireplace.
The home also features a raked timber ceiling and conservatory, as well as triple car garage and plenty of storage. A wood fired oven sits in the large alfresco entertaining area.
The one-bedroom granny flat also features a kitchen, bathroom, lounge room and double garage plus carport.
