Persona 5 Scramble Confirmed for Western Release

Since its February release in Japan, many fans have been wondering if Persona’s latest hack-and-slash spinoff, Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, would be seeing a Western release. Persona Central’s translation of Koei Tecmo’s recent financial reports gives hope that aspiring Phantom Thieves in North America and Europe will be getting their wish.

Based on these reports, The Phantom Strikers will be coming to Switch and PS4, with its release region designated as “the West.” No official release date accompanied the report, but at least we now know the game is slated for localization.

While exciting, this localization reveal isn’t exactly surprising. In a briefing on the end of their fiscal year this past April, Koei Tecmo confirmed that it did still have plans to localize Persona 5 Scramble. These plans, combined with reports that both Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Scramble exceeded their sales expectations in Japan, make porting the title abroad a no-brainer.

That said, we’ve yet to hear anything from Atlus on the subject. Hopefully that means an announcement is coming soon, but for now eager fans can check out the Japanese demo to whet their appetites.
